Happy New Year!
A new year is an excellent opportunity for change. Whether it's that post-Christmas detox, taking out that new gym membership or trying your best to quit one of your less desirable habits, new year resolutions are a familiar part of our lives.
But how many of us genuinely stick to the promises we make to ourselves? Sure, we all start off with the best of intentions, but by February, many of us are distracted by the humdrum of everyday life and the challenges thrown at us. It's easy for even the simplest of resolutions to 'get lost'.
The same can be said for the objectives we set ourselves in our working life too, no matter how good our intentions are. So how can we ensure we stick to our resolutions?
One tip is to make sure we set challenges and objectives which are SMART – Specific, Measureable, Achievable, Realistic and Time bound.
All too often, we at Be Interactive are approached with a project where the starting point is to 'perform better than before' - whether that means increasing sales, generating contacts or simply raising brand awareness.
Without the proper parameters in place, it becomes all the more difficult to track your performance and all the more tempting to turn a blind eye or worse still forget the targets you have set.
